Frequently asked Questions

  • ALL of our events are always free entry and non-ticketed and you are more than welcome to join us for them all. However, we DO NOT offer table reservations/bookings and instead operate on a first-come-first-served basis. We do not hire out the venue but are open to collaborations.

  • People are generally very lucky here when it comes to finding lost beloved & valuable items. However, we are not always in the building to search for them. We will of course look for any lost property when we get to work but it may take some time to get back to you. That said, everything that gets handed in gets logged and you are very welcome to come down and look for your item, or ask the bar staff if an item that matches your description has been handed in/logged. We are open from 5pm Tues-Sun.

  • You can find all of our current event listings via https://www.facebook.com/Porterscardiff/events/ . All of our events are free-entry and non-ticketed so you just need to show up early enough to guarantee entry.

    Events Tue-Thurs start at 9pm and bands on Fri-Sat start at 9:30pm.

    Our OPEN MIC runs on every Tuesday evening. Sign-ups start from 8pm and slots start from 9pm. There is an acoustic guitar and a stage piano available for all peformers if they need it (but feel free to bring your own if you'd like). If you are performing anything else then of course you'll need to bring whatever equipment you will need in order to perform. If you are performing with backing tracks then using tracks from your phone/laptop is possible. We have a full microphone locker and P.A system so we are equipped for any setup you'd like to throw at us! Due to the high level of sign-ups we advise to arrive as early as possible. Slots are two songs or 10 minutes each.

    Our popular PUB QUIZ runs every Sunday from 7:30pm. There is a maximum of 6 people per team and the entry fee is £1 per team member. The quiz has an obscure knowledge round, a picture round, a music round and a bonus round chosen by the losing team from the week before. We advise getting there earlier to ensure you get a table.

  • At this moment in time, we don't have any job openings or vacancies. However, if you send over your CV and cover letter to info@porterscardiff.com with your name as the email subject header, then we will be in touch if something becomes available. Your CV will be digitally stored for 6 months.
